The Long Walk Women's Luncheon 2009

Raising Awareness and Gathering Support

09 WL TheRoom

The Long Walk Women's Luncheon on Friday 9 October at Peninsula at Central Pier, Docklands in Melbourne was attended by close to 600 people. The event raises funds for The Long Walk with proceeds from the 2009 Women's Luncheon contributing to The Long Walk's Indigenous Cultural Exchange which promotes cultural maintenance and transmission between generations and Indigenous communities. Thank you to all those who supported the day either by buying seats or donating time, auction items or seats to Indigenous women. Over $15,000 was raised on the day. More fabulous photos by Bindi Cole can be found on our facebook page

The event would not have been possible without the generous assistance of many volunteers on the day mainly drawn from NAB's volunteering program, with a special mention to head volunteer Beth Newman who assisted in the pre-production as well.
