The Long Walk in Geelong
When Michael Long set out to walk to Canberra in 2004, he was joined by many Indigenous and non Indigenous supporters.

Among them were four special women from Geelong, Victoria:
- Jacqui Marion
- Trish Atkinson-Sinclair
- Julie Phillips
- Merryn Apma
In December 2005, to mark the one year anniversary of this historic walk, the women continued their journey with a walk from Geelong to Melbourne. Hundreds of well-wishers saw them off, and hundreds more welcomed them as they walked into Melbourne 75km later.
In December, 2006 the thousands of people from the Geelong community once again walked alongside Jacqui, Trish, Julie and Merryn as they joined the annual Geelong Gala Appeal Parade.
These four, proud Indigenous women walk for reconciliation and a united Australia.
