CELEBRATING OUR JOURNEYS

Carolyn Briggs & Joy Murphy
On 3 October, The Long Walk Women's Luncheon celebrated our journeys – the journey of the women who walked to Canberra, The Long Walk's journey to charity status, and the journeys of women who demonstrate that leadership happens in the Indigenous community through our everyday working lives, cultural practice and family business.

Guest speakers Tammy Hunter and Karen Atkinson thrilled the guests with their amazing stories. A beautiful lunch served at the Atlantic Group's fabulous venue Peninsula lined our stomachs for a great afternoon of talking, laughing and sharing. The day was rounded out beautifully with a great set of Indigenous classics reinterpreted by the Liz Cavanagh Big Band. Nice and classy.

A big thank you to the many volunteers who were on their feet all day as well as the many individuals and businesses who donated to the event. The Long Walk will keep the list of supporters up on the site so you can find out more about them and hopefully support them too.
